Exercise books and pencils for a child in South Sudan
Schools in South Sudan. Only a few years after declaring independence from Sudan, South Sudan was engulfed in civil war. The plight of the impoverished population worsened still further with the famine of the spring of 2017. It is the children who are worst hit by the hunger and the violence. Going to school gives them a normal everyday routine and at least one warm meal a day. School books, exercise books and pencils are precious to them. Jugend Eine Welt supports schools in Gumbo, Tenj and Wau. Because education is the only long-term solution to the population’s problems.
