Project detail
Medical treatment and medicines (4x) for one girl in Sierra Leone.
Medical care. Sierra Leone is one of the world’s poorest countries. The severe poverty forces many young women and girls to engage in prostitution. It is common for girls as young as nine to work the streets. Most of them are unaware of the dangers, for example of an HIV infection. Jugend Eine Welt and Don Bosco Fambul offer these girls medical care and information about the dangers. These measures are only a first step towards leaving life on the street behind and provide help that can save lives. 25 euros is enough to guarantee the medical care and treatment of one girl. Film tip: LOVE - A short film about child prostitutes in Sierra Leone by Raúl De La Fuente.
